…playing online chess with a DGT board on my M1 worked better – at least from a technical point of view 😉

Conclusion: I still was a bit distracted by my worries whether the DGT board will work flawlessly. It’s also a difference sitting at a real board but making your opponent’s moves in a tournament game. And last but not least play what you know, don’t be afraid that you opponent will gain much while preparing for the game.
